This DVR is compatible with our full line of high definition MPX and wireless security cameras (excluding wire-free security cameras). It is also backward compatible, meaning older analog and CVI security cameras will still work as well.
Upgrade older DVR systems
The technology within a Lorex DVR has changed drastically over the past few years. Thankfully the way in which camera cables are connected to it has not. This means that it is extremely easy to upgrade your older DVR security system to a new one. You can also easily swap your older analog cameras for brand new HD ones using the same cabling.

Feel free to add a couple of Lorex's premium audio cameras to your DV700 Series DVR. It supports audio on every channel via the coaxial BNC cable connection. The 3TB within the DV7163 HD DVR from Lorex will provide you with weeks (or even months) of reliable footage. This hard drive is tuned specifically to handle the high workloads demanded by security monitoring and can continue to record even while you watch recorded footage. Record at 1080p or set it to a lower resolution to extend recording times.

Multiple recording modes
This DVR is designed to suit your recording needs - choose to record footage continuously, during scheduled times, or only when movement is detected. These recording options can be customized with each camera, which means that you can have your most important cameras recording continuously while other cameras only record during certain times or on motion events. A pre-recording function that goes back to record the five seconds before motion is detected is also built into this DVR, so you never have to worry about missing those first vital moments.
Automatic overwriting of oldest footage
Running out of space on the hard drive? Not to worry, you don't have to do a thing. This DVR is designed to automatically overwrite the oldest data with the newest data.
Over the Internet Updates

Automatic recovery
There is no need to worry about your security system if there is a power outage. The DV700 Series DVR has an auto-recovery function that will automatically reboot and start recording again once the system regains power. This means that you don't have to do a thing. There is also a Watch Dog feature built-in to this DVR that continuously monitors the system for potential system errors. If this feature ever detects a critical error, it will automatically reboot the system. This helps ensure system stability, keeps your cameras recording, and prevents future system failures.
